First, start saving. Ha! Totally kidding.
I can’t tell you how many times people want to meet to “pick my brain.” I know what that means and am usually happy to do it. I love learning about other businesses and understanding the struggles people are having with social media and building brand awareness around their product or service. I usually leave just as inspired as my company does! I love being able to provide value to as many people as I can!
If you’re looking for some quick tips on how to breathe some new life into your business and amplify your message I’d encourage these steps:
Write your story. Share your story.
People want to connect with the humans behind the brand. As much as you don’t want to do this, it’s probably the most important part of any strategy we write. Share little bits of yourself. You can do this through Instagram stories, blog posts, and fun Facebook Live videos.
Audit what you have been talking about.
It could be that you are knowledgeable in all sorts of stuff and are all over the board in what you decide to share with people. Your followers may be confused on what you offer. You should pick 3-5 things to talk about on social media. At Brand Yourself we talk about:
- Our Values
- Our team
- Our clients
- Social media
You can talk about these categories in different ways. For example: Get a video of your favorite client talking about what you did for them. Write a blog about each topic. Go live in the warehouse to share some behind the scenes videos of your team. (This idea slinging is my super power. If you struggle to come up with ideas let me know!)
Share away! With that being said, it is a thing to actually over-post. Don’t be annoying. Don’t share the same image again and again. You can wreck the algorithm and Facebook could kill the fresh, new stuff you intend to share too. Also, don't post the same content to different platforms. You want people to come to each platform and see different content.
Set a goal of posting 3 times a week to your Facebook Page. If you find it easier to sit down and schedule these out, remember that Facebook allows you to schedule posts up to 6 months in advance.
Instagram is less friendly when trying to schedule out content and we encourage a bit more time on that one. Make sure to be adding to your stories and your profile as you grow your audience.
Be sure to measure your results. Keep track of what kind of content gets the most engagement. You can find this information in your Page Insights. You’ll be able to tell if you’re over-sharing too. If no one is engaging with your content be sure not to get discouraged. Shake it up until you get some positive feedback!
Okay – I hope this helps. It’s almost like we sat down over a cup of coffee, right? If you are still at a loss of what to do we are offering 1-hour strategy sessions right now.
Good luck and happy posting!
